When it first began operating services, a major UK light rail system in the north of England was owned and operated by private transport firms under a 10-year operating and maintenance (O&M) contact. When the subsequent seven-year O&M contract came up for tender, four companies were shortlisted.
Following a challenge by one of the unsuccessful bidders to the client’s contract award, Direx Solutions was instructed by an international law firm to perform the role of expert witness. Our expert report reviewed the tender process and included an independent assessment of evaluation criteria, the bid evaluation process and scores awarded.
The case was settled out of court by the disputing parties.
