Direx Solutions was engaged by PwC to provide expert technical support for the modernisation of Tamil Nadu state’s bus fleet with the procurement of 2,000 battery-electric buses. The scope of the project was to define the detailed technical requirements for the depot and fleet, maintenance requirements, and to produce a roadmap for how battery-electric vehicles would be introduced.

Direx Solutions worked closely with PwC’s Indian team as technical expert, providing subject matter reviews of the current project as well as providing technical and operational advice at every stage.

Our scope included assessing the fleet size and routes, identifying charging requirements, developing the charging strategy, and assessing the maintenance and refurbishment of facilities for implementation of charging equipment. The fleet maintenance plan requirements were also developed, including technical specification and life cycle maintenance.

Direx Solutions also prepared fleet requirements documents for a fleet procurement tender.
